Welsh
Our learning this term will be based on the book Croeso Ms Swyn which has been adapted by Rhian Pierce Jones. We will also look at poetry by the Welsh poets T. Llew Jones and Tudur Dylan Jones. We will improve our Welsh by practicing grammatical elements such as verb endings and the nasal mutation.
English
Our English book for this term will be Crab-Boy Cranc by Julie Rainsbury. We will learn to use similes to improve our creative writing. In addition to this, we will look at certain grammatical aspects such as the '-ing' ending.
Mathematics
During the term we will learn about mathematical aspects such as ordering numbers, adding and taking away, problem solving and measures.
Science
During this term we will extend on last terms learning about materials and will consider other elements such as rocks and soils. We will also learn more about the importance of recycling materials.
History
We will research the development of farming through the ages during this term.
Geography
Wales' National Parks will provide a focus for our learning this term. We will look specifically at Snowdonia National Park. We will consider the effect of the weather on Snowdon and its visitors.
Religious Education
We will look at the importance placed on prayer and the varying ways in which different faiths use their bodies during prayer. We will enrich last term's learning about the Church and we will consider the symbolism and importance of the Last Supper to Cristians. In addition to this, we will learn about the features of Stained Glass Windows. We will concentrate also on the Synagogue as a place of worship for Jews and the Mosque for Muslims.
Art
We will continue to improve our sketching skills and we will also create a Collage. We will look for inspiration in the work of the artists Catrin Webster and Catrin Williams.
Physical Education
We will continue to use the facilities at Plascrug Leisure Centre during this term. Our focus will be team games and athletics.
Personal and Social Education
This term our focus will be upon responsibility.
Information Technology and Communication Skills
These skills will underpin all areas of learning. In addition to this, opportunities will arise to focus upon specific skills such as word processing and using the internet to retrieve information.
